Rush Around Farm
Rush Around Farm is not your normal farm. It is as much a lifestyle and a a dream as it is a functional farm. We raise kids (ours) and animals in the most natural way possible. That includes dog, goats, chicken and eggs for now and will soon include pigs and cows. We provide as little outside influence as possible with the goal being a self-sustaining, pasture-raised farm and homestead.
We follow sustainable practices, but do not dare use the word organic.
Animals on the farm right now are chickens (layers and broilers), turkeys (standard and heritage), and Large Black Hogs. We also grow fresh veggies seasonally which we occasionally sell on the farm or at farmers markets in and around Pittsburgh and Ligonier.
We are always taking names for our next harvest so if you are interested in signing up for a year of pork, chicken or eggs let us know and we will add you to our list.

UPDATE- We sold the farm in May of 2013 to a wonderful family who - HURRAH - are continuing the farm as a farm. It is now RUSH AROUND FARM, and you can find them on AgMap, Facebook and their blog. They have added new animals and new ideas to that wonderful, historical place.
We were so lucky to have spent ten productive and enjoyable years on such a beautiful property. The support of our neighbors, customers, visitors, 4-H, experienced herders and farmers, PASA, the staffs of NRCS, Project Grass and the Penn State Extension made it the sustainable farm it was and is.
Continue to support your local farmers. Its worth it to all of us.

We are a custom poultry processor located in Bradford County PA. We started with a homemade plucker and saw there was a need for a small local processor. In 2010 we purchased commercial equipment and built our shop. We are looking forward to the 2014 season. The growing concern over where our meat is coming from has prompted people to start raising and growing their own food, despite the cost of feed. We process chickens and turkeys and this year we are adding ducks, geese and rabbits. We are working on expanding our facility. We have added a 1500 pound a day ice maker to help chill the birds and also added a walk in freezer. In the spring we have Cornish rock cross chicks and broad breasted white turkey chicks available. Call for availability. You do not have to purchase chicks from us. All poultry are welcome.

The idea for Koi Story existed for many years but finally came to fruition the summer of 2013. In 2009 we were blessed with our first baby. The love at first site we felt about our newborn made us decide to sell our motorcycles for a less risky hobby...water gardening. We had a beautiful pond and waterfall installed in 2009. Since then we have studied and learned through experience (some lessons were very difficult) about Koi. Our admiration for Koi has only grown. We love nature and the balance it brings to us as parents and to our children. We hope you find tranquility and slow down enough to enjoy the beauty our Koi will bring to your water garden.
We are a small, family business that appreciates our customers both near and far. We choose to NOT be the largest koi dealer because we care about our customers and strive to sell ONLY healthy, quality Koi. Our Koi are handled with utmost care. We wait to package our Koi until the absolute latest moment to prepare for shipping. Prior to that time, all Koi swim freely in 300+ gallon tanks. Our Koi are quarantined at least two weeks prior to selling. All sold Koi are not fed for 3 days prior to shipping. This helps alleviate health issues during shipping, lowering build up of ammonia in the water. In order to ensure the OPTIMAL health and beauty of our Koi stock, we have partnered with an American Koi breeder who imports parents directly from Japan! We are very excited to be partnered with an American Koi breeder with a stellar reputation for healthy, gorgeous Japanese blood-line Koi and who continuously breeds Grand Champion Koi. Please do not hesitate to ask us any questions via our "Contact Us" tab. Trust us to help make your pond or water garden extraordinary with our Koi!
Please Note: We are fully licensed by the PA Department of Agriculture to sell live fish. The selling of live fish should ALWAYS be licensed within the state the dealer resides to ensure the Koi you purchase are healthy!

Would it be beneficial to you to be able to contact all landowners in any county or counties of your choosing, that own 5, 10 , 20... acres of land or more, to inquire if they have timber or timberland they wish to have evaluated or harvested? If so you may be interested in the direct mailing postcard service i offer. We of this service in all counties in any state however, some are already contracted and cannot be resold.
How it works:
1. You choose the county or counties you wish to have contracted for mailing, and see if they are still available.
2. You choose your minimum acreage criteria such as 5 acres or more, 10 acres or more,..... or even an acreage range, for instance, 5 to 25 acres.
3. We can set up an appointment to sign the contract that states once the deposit for counties selected is paid i will not offer the mailing service into those counties to any other consulting forester, or timber buyer for 1 year if 1 to 3 counties are selected, and 2 years if 4 or more counties are selected.
4. Upon signing of contract there will be a $750.00 per county deposit paid.
5. I will then supply you with the list of landowners by county, the list will contain owner name, city, state, zip, and acreage. All lists contain only one record per landowner, even if an individual may own multiple parcels.
6. I will also supply you with a sample postcard, full picture front and a sample message for the back that you can modify in any way you would like.
7. Once you have gone over the list and crossed out any current clients you have, or names of individuals you wish not to mail to, you return list to me along with check for balance of mailing mailing is .93 per postcard minus deposit if whole county is mailed at once. If you choose to mail out only part of list, the same percentage of the list being mailed will be deducted out of the deposit.
8. once check is received for balance due i will have cards printed and mailed out.
9. You then start receiving calls for landowners interested in harvesting or having their timber evaluated.
Once the postcards are mailed out i am no longer involved in the process, i do not collect a finders fee or receive any of the calls.
Why it works:
1. You are contacting thousands of landowners at one time, Even the hard to reach out of state landowners.
2. Once calls Start coming in you will have timber to go look at instead of going out looking for timber.
If interested please call me at 814-591-7581.
