Maple Bottom Farm
Maple Bottom Farm is operated by the Ansell and Baker families of Scottdale, PA. Maple Bottom Farm is part of the Ansell Acres story. Ansell Acres was purchased by Larry and Susan Ansell from Martin and Hilda Ansell (Larry’s parents), and they took over the family dairy operation. Larry and Susan continue to operate the family farm and Susan also teaches high school for the Southmoreland School District. The two of them had four children: Victoria, Jane, Jeffery, and Larry “Chip”. In 2003, Larry purchased part of a second farm from his father Martin. This eighty acres was located one mile from the home farm and was part of 130 acres that was divided by Hornertown Rd. Known as “The Bottom” (because it was located on the lower side of the road), this parcel was also the location that Martin made sweet maple syrup each spring. Vickie’s love for growing flowers and her desire to operate her own business lead her to plant the flowers in 2004. She selected Maple Bottom Farm as her business’ name to commemorate the family’s traditions. Maple Bottom Farm grew it’s first mums in 2004. we are not currently offering mums for sale.
Vickie and Mike Baker were married July 3, 2006 and purchased the dairy herd November 1, 2006 from her parents. We are a 70 cow dairy that milks all 7 breeds of dairy cattle. 4H show calves are available from each breed. They also have several horses (AQHA)and have a few foals for sale each year. An additional farm was purchased in 2008 by Vickie and Mike and they house dry cows and bred heifers at this facility. In December 2015, Vickie and Mike purchased the Rumbaugh Farm in Dawson, PA and began construction of a new dairy facility. They have installed a DeLaval VMS robot to milk their cows. On farm InVitro Fertilization lab will be open beginning late 2016. Please visit our website for more information www.maplebottomfarm.com or Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/MapleBottomFarm

CT - Philadelphia Crime Scene Cleanup
Philadelphia has always been home for us as the Crime Scene Clean Up Philadelphia Center for Events related to a Death. We all feel a certain connection to the city. With over 1.5 million people living in Philadelphia that we are happy to call are friends, family, and community members. When we founded our family owned business as Crime Scene Clean Up Philadelphia, it was done due to the overwhelming knowledge we had in the cleaning industry, and the outpouring of questions we would get from customers in the Philadelphia area who didn't know what to do or who to call to clean up blood from a death or accident. Stepping forward with solutions is something our family has been doing for generations, and that is exactly what we did in this case. Founding one of the most recognized brand name crime scene cleaning businesses in the State of Pennsylvania and in one of its greatest cities has enabled us to help give first hand solutions of troublesome problems related to blood clean up in Philadelphia and surrounding suburbs.

Miller's County Store at Fairyland Farms
Founded in 1922 by Robert P. Diehl, Fairyland Farms started as a small farm operation with a few animals and developed to "a modern farm of over 1,200 acres" with various amounts of beef cattle, hogs, turkeys, horses, and the biggest sector of it all-- the dairy cattle herd. With the dairy herd, Fairyland Farms became well established with their very own milk, butter, and ice cream. In 1940 a small store, the Fairyland Farms Dairy Store (or the "Dairy Bar" as most said) was opened up on the farm where the home-grown "Famous Fairyland Farms Products" could be bought. Since then, many of these dairy items (milk bottles, calendars, etc) have become quite sought-after antiques in the local area.
Aside of the animal and farming culture, Fairyland Farms was a place to visit and picnic with family and friends while listening to live music performance and also watch the famous Fairyland Farms Cardinals Baseball Team. Small games could be played by children too. Fairyland Farms was a great place to learn about agriculture and have fun with family and friends while enjoying things like a good old fashioned milk shake.
After the farm split ways and the dairy herd was sold off in the 1970's, Miller's County Store was opened up in the 1980's to keep the family farm going along with the remaining livestock and crops. The Store was founded by John & Kathryn Miller and Robert & Fern Miller as a small "mom & pop" store where regular groceries, deli, ice cream, and local arts and crafts could be bought.
Today, the Store and Farm are owned by Robert & Fern Miller and helped run by the rest of the family in 6 generations. There are over 200 acres on the farm between the fields, woods, and barns. Corn, soybeans, oats, barley, and hay are all grown to provide for the beef cattle, sheep, poultry, and horses on the farm. Livestock are raised and sold. Hay, Straw, Corn, and Blueberries grown on the farm are sold as well.
Fairyland Farms may not be as big as it once was, but with it's hearty family atmosphere and historical values, it still runs strong with the land and animals that inhabit it. We take pride in selling our very own agricultural commodities as well as commodities from other local farmers/friends in the Carbon County/surrounding areas at Miller's Country Store. Stop on in at the Store for your small groceries and/or farm needs or even just stop for a chat from the family as they are well known by all in the area!!!
