2012 kidding season is underway with two sets of twin bucklings and a set of big triplets(two bucks and a 8.5 lb doe)in the barn. These six boys have great potential. Two big Fullblood does just born. Two more nannies are due in February-March.
We will hold 4-H projects with a deposit until weaning at three months of age. If you need a 4-H kid, don't wait to call. We have two disbudded. Others are with horns so far. Very social.
Easter 2012 is April 8. Call very early to reserve an Easter kid if you need it processed. The wait can be 4-6 weeks.
We have two yearling does for sale. Ali is the 4-H 6-9 month Breeding Meat Goat Crossbred division blue ribbon winner. The other is sister to Adeline(see below).
Our 1 year old unregistered,commercial buck is available for sale at this time.
2011 kidding season produced two Westmoreland Fair 4-H Champions for us, shown by our 9 year old neighbor Julia. Ali won the 6-9 month Breeding Meat Goat Crossbred division, and Adeline won 6 months and under. Adeline also took the Reserve Junior Champion Rosette. WOW! They will mature next year and be bred for future winners. Congratulations to Julia for all her hard work in getting the girls ready for show.
Our goat is selling locally and the chefs are loving the product.
We sell the goats at live weight based on current USDA market price. Expect over 50% meat after processing.
Two yearlings were processed for jerky,chops and roasts in the Fall 2010. The feedback has been all fantastic. A sweet meat. No need for over-seasoning. Adult and kid approved!
