Marking its fifth year in 2014, the Dillsburg Farmers' Market is proving to be a Saturday morning oasis for fresh produce, eggs, poultry, meat, milk, cheese and baked goods. Conveniently located at 117 N. Baltimore Street (near the post office and Dollar General Store), the site hosts a group of friendly, knowledgeable and reliable vendors showcasing a wide array of homegrown, homemade and "earth grown" items, including soy-based candles, natural soaps and skin care products, apple butter, jams and jellies, salsas and sauces, mushrooms, honey, herbs, fresh-cut flowers, homemade dog treats and flowering annuals and vegetable plants.
Several produce vendors accept FMNP and SFMNP vouchers. Look for the Dept. of Ag poster at their stands.
Children's activities are available each Saturday at the kids' table near the front of the market.
Special guests like master gardeners, etc. and programs are scheduled periodically through the season.
In 2014 the Dillsburg Farmers' Market is a partner member of York County "Buy Fresh, Buy Local" (www.buyfreshbuylocalyork.com). The market also promotes "Farm to School" info. and activities in cooperation with the local school district (Northern York Co.).
