At Paso Ligero Alpacas, we beed suri and huacaya alpacas. We've been breeding alpacas since 2004, and have been in East Berlin since late 2006. We have animals for sale as pet/fiber stock all the way to high quality breeding stock. We also sell raw alpaca fiber and will soon have rovings available as well for hand spinners. We are in the process of stocking the farm with alpaca products as well, from yarns to hats, mittens, socks, sweaters, blankets and more.
We use livestock guardian dogs for our alpacas' protection, with a working male and female Great Pyrenees on duty. We have just begun breeding these amazing dogs as well, having fallen in love with this breed for their awesome abilities and instincts as livestock guardians as well as their loving nature with their people.
We produce our own hay and sometimes have mixed grass hay availabe for sale in small, square bales.
We love to have farm visits, but appreciate it if you call to make an appointment so that we an make sure we have the time to focus attention on you/your group, answer all of your questions and give you a first-class tour around our little farm, which can definitely include alpaca or puppy kisses if you wish!
