About Us:

Sheep and lambs are the foremost product on our farm. The flock of 200 brood ewes, half of which are wool sheep and the balance are hair sheep; work well to help us produce the best grass fed lamb we can. We do not use any antibiotics or hormones for our lamb production and no grain is ever fed. The combination of hair and wool sheep allows us to have lambs born throughout the year, so we generally will have animals available most of the time. Currently we offer whole or half lambs and we can ship nationwide, from a USDA inspected market, which follows humane handling procedures. Animals for breeding stock can be purchased also.

Baytree Farm consists of 180 acres and we maintain almost all of land as grass or pasture. Doing this helps us to farm in a sustainable and conservative manner. We produce all the forage our animals will need for the year and often have hay to sell. We make round bales of hay as wrapped baleage or dry hay which we store inside.

Each fall we run a "farm stand” where we sell a large variety of pumpkins, unique gourds, winter squash, corn stalks, straw bales, and beautiful fall decorations. We have been doing this for twenty six of the thirty five years we have lived here in Emlenton. "Pumpkin Season” is a favorite time of the year for us and we look forward to seeing and visiting with the customers, many of which have been coming back regularly for years.

Another item that is very important to us, are the tours which we provide. Since we did not grow up on a farm, we feel it is helpful for others to be able to experience agriculture first hand. Many of the programs we do are aimed at school classes or scout groups, however we tailor the message to everyone we can. Most recently we hosted 28 "Red Hat” ladies for a day with their lunch and our program and pumpkin painting.

In addition to the sheep here on the farm, we also have a collection of horses, mules, donkeys (large & small) and llamas. Some of these animals have come from rescue organizations and we are pleased to be able to provide them with a good home to live out their lives in comfort. Dogs are important to us also, with currently seven calling Baytree home.

We really appreciate your interest. Please visit our website.
