Cumberland Valley Creamery is owned and operated by Dean Feaser and Solomon Meyer and their families. Building on Solomon's history operating his family's farmstead creamery (Berkshire Farmstead Creamery in Bernville, PA) which he had operated with his father and family. Beginning as a sustainable farming venture in 1977 to provide food for the Meyer family, Berkshire had grown to commercial levels producing and marketing a complete line of artisan cheeses and fresh dairy products. Joining with the Feaser family in 2012, Solomon relocated his farmstead operation to Cumberland County and set up shop in Mechanicsburg near the Feaser family farm. Using milk from the Feaser farm in combination with specialty milks from other sources, Solomon and his staff create several brands of artisan and premium cheese. Only all-natural and organic ingredients are used in all our products. Currently we produce more than 50 varieties of cheese. There is a skilled and diversely qualified team assembled at Cumberland Valley Creamery. Dean has a strong background in business sales and management and retail marketing. Solomon is a skilled cheesemaker and operations manager who has been making cheese since he was 8 years old. Prior to merging with the Feasers, Solomon also owned and operated Dutchland Marketing Group, a company he founded to better structure the marketing of his and other farmstead and specialty food products. He has received over 100 hours of cheesemaking training and holds various certifications in addition to his B.S. degree in Engineering from Penn State. Solomon's wife Michelle is a Wisconsin native and licensed as a certified Wisconsin cheesemaker herself. With our modern facility, we have opened our doors to farmers all across Pennsylvania and surrounding areas, enabling others to use our skills and facility to produce and process cheese and dairy products to market in their own areas and under their own branding. Cumberland Valley Creamery is PA state licensed and also certified Kosher and is currently in the process of acquiring Organic certification.
