We invite you to join our 2008 shareholder waiting list for Cherry Valley CSA. This year we offered 40 shares and are filled for the 2007 growing season. We have received an overwhelming response from over 60 people. We knew the spots were going to fill quickly so we created a waiting list. For the 2008 growing season those on the list will be invited first before we extend the invitations out to the general public. Sign up now so you don't miss out on another year!
We estimate that a share is enough for two to three healthy eaters (or two healthy eaters and some picky kids!). Shares will include a plethora of vegetables (fruits to come in following years as we establish them in the garden). A product list can be provided for those interested. Pick-up of your share will be at the farm. U-pick items like herbs and flowers will be available when they are in season. Each week you will experience a variety of seasonal vegetables, approximately 7-12 different varieties. An option is to split a full share, priced at $500 in 2007, with a neighbor or friend for extra savings, or to donate half a share to someone who may not be able to afford it. However, this share-splitting is solely the members' responsibility.
The season will extend from May to November, totaling at least 21 weeks. Please remember there are no guarantees in farming only the promise that we will do our very best this season to grow healthy, tasty and sustainable food for you and your family. We cannot guarantee the exact amount or type of produce that you may receive. The weather and the season may or may not provide certain types of produce, however if there is an abundance of produce like beans, tomatoes or cucumbers, they may then become available for you to pick for canning or freezing. By freezing small amounts throughout the season you can have a nice reserve for the winter months. Although we are not harvesting or providing lots of fruit this year, we intend to plant blueberries, raspberries, and other perennial crops throughout the season for future benefit. This will be without doubt the freshest, healthiest and most beautiful food you will ever eat!
