Maple Bottom Farm
Maple Bottom Farm is operated by the Ansell and Baker families of Scottdale, PA. Maple Bottom Farm is part of the Ansell Acres story. Ansell Acres was purchased by Larry and Susan Ansell from Martin and Hilda Ansell (Larry’s parents), and they took over the family dairy operation. Larry and Susan continue to operate the family farm and Susan also teaches high school for the Southmoreland School District. The two of them had four children: Victoria, Jane, Jeffery, and Larry “Chip”. In 2003, Larry purchased part of a second farm from his father Martin. This eighty acres was located one mile from the home farm and was part of 130 acres that was divided by Hornertown Rd. Known as “The Bottom” (because it was located on the lower side of the road), this parcel was also the location that Martin made sweet maple syrup each spring. Vickie’s love for growing flowers and her desire to operate her own business lead her to plant the flowers in 2004. She selected Maple Bottom Farm as her business’ name to commemorate the family’s traditions. Maple Bottom Farm grew it’s first mums in 2004. we are not currently offering mums for sale.
Vickie and Mike Baker were married July 3, 2006 and purchased the dairy herd November 1, 2006 from her parents. We are a 70 cow dairy that milks all 7 breeds of dairy cattle. 4H show calves are available from each breed. They also have several horses (AQHA)and have a few foals for sale each year. Burkholder's Ever-Green Farm, Inc.
Visit us in beautiful northern Lancaster County for our own asparagus, red raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and other limited seasonal produce. Mostly wholesaling acres of asparagus, raspberries, & blackberries, we also sell any quantities of the above and fresh and dried lavender and herbs, and related gifts. Also don't miss our large selection of antiques and vintage items in our shop. Owners Dan and Margi Burkholder have both taught school and grown berries and other produce since the late 1970’s. Over the decades, our business changed from (strawberries & many vegetables) retail, pick-your-own, and wholesale, to just wholesale. Now with retirement from teaching, we've reentered the retail farm business with a self serve produce building and new spacious barn for our antique shop. Mid summer you'll see hundreds of lilies and other perennials and invite you to enjoy our gardens and antique farm equipment displays. Contact us for educational tours focused on agricultural methods, high tunnel & trellising production, conservation practices, history of the property & buildings, and/or antiques & heritage. We also board horses with eight stalls and three spacious pastures. Tammie Stark of Stockwell Stables manages the horses and specializes in thoroughbred race horses, lay-ups, and sales prep.
Our business name honors our farm's listings in local history books as "The Evergreen Farm". We do not sell evergreens, but hope to keep this property "Ever-Green". Our beautiful location has been in agriculture since the late 1700's and in the Burkholder family since 1924. Dan and Margi purchased the main farm homestead in 2002. Our motto, "Preserving History, Conserving the Land" reflects our commitment to bio-friendly practices, such as generating solar electricity, using geo-thermal heating and cooling, maintaining our creek frontage in the CREP program, and using as many organic practices as feasible. We have been working to preserve and restore our historic buildings. Our large antique shop is open and filled with local and Pennsylvania historical items and unique gifts. Inventory ranges from primitive farm to Victorian to vintage; wooden ware, tools, stoneware, graniteware, bottles, fine glass and china, artwork, paper ephemera, furniture, and much more. Price ranges to suit all. Open as indicated by listed hours. Winter hours by chance or appointment.
Looking forward to a visit! God bless.

Stump Busters owners, brother and sister, Kelly and Ed Joyce, started the stump removal business as a way to support their growing families. We strive to give our customers the best prices on stump grinding in Media and will always beat our competitors prices due to our low overhead and discount options. Delaware County has been our home for over 30 years and we have been servicing residents and business owners of Delaware County since March 2006. We spend a lot of time removing stumps in Delco and know the area well. Since our company is based out of Delaware County, PA, we can be at your location to grind your stumps within 15-30 minutes.
Why do we have the best stump removal prices? We quote most of our jobs via text, e-mail, or phone, which allows us to save time and money by driving out to your location to quote a job. Media residents have chosen Stump Busters over most of our competitors due to our competitive edge with pricing and our strong ties to the Delaware County community.
Stump Busters only does stump removal, we don’t do tree or shrub removal; therefore, we can offer Delaware County residents the dedicated time it takes to remove a stump accurately and efficiently. We are the leading tree stump removing company in Delaware County and the entire PA tri-state area. Our business ethics started back in 2001 with our first company, Equip Seller, which is the largest heavy equipment company in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and New Jersey. We have taken the customer service and business skills that we learned through operating Equip Seller to Stump Busters to make sure that your experience with us is a great one.
