Slack farm was established in the mid 1800's, we sold our dairy herd in 1988 but have continued to crop farm. In 2007 we established the Milk House Farm Market in the old milk house part of the dairy barn. Brenda Slack and her father now run the market which specializes in outstanding Sweet Corn and Tomatoes. We have 300 chickens that lay delicious brown and green (yes, green) eggs which are available daily in the market. We now have six type of sunflowers, zinnias, watermelon,delicious corn, hybrid tomatoes, an array of heirloom tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, several different types of potatoes like our pink banana , Yukon gold, red norland, and white baking potatoes, fresh eggplants including oriental, lavender, white, Fairytale, Turkish, Sicilian and Zebra eggplant, organic greens and assorted herbs like dill, basil, oregano, cilantro, Stevia, green and yellow horticultural (flat) string beans,cucumbers, onions, turnips, golden, white and Chiogga beets, rainbow peppers, pablano and chili peppers, cherry bombs, jalapeƱos, Hungarian wax peppers, scallions, radishes, cabbage, rainbow carrots, swiss chard, broccoli, pickles, black berries, white and yellow peaches, zucchini, yellow, magna squash,and cabbage. We also have local honey and honey products for sale and we added four more hives to our farm this year. In April we launched the Milk House Soap Company and now offer handmade soaps such as "Heavenly Shea Butter" Almond Butter Soap, Coffee Soap (to neutralize odors on your hands after cutting onions, garlic, etc.), and Almond Honey Soap. We recently added 100 chicks to our farm as well as two Llama's and two Alpaca's! Come by to meet them! In addition, we will be selling our eggs and produce at the Wrightstown, New Hope and Linden Hill Farmer's Markets this year. Starting in June we will be offering coffee and fresh baked goods for sale on Saturday mornings from 7am to 11 am. Come sit under a shade tree, take in the farm and the animals, and enjoy a fresh cup of joe and a treat. Isabel (from Twigs) is also making hand painted gourds and birdhouses for sale in the market that are adorable, functional and truly one of a kind items. Mr. Slack continues to sell hay, straw, and mulch hay year round. Our customers say coming to our farm is like going back in time to how Bucks County used to be.
