About Us:
Visit us in beautiful northern Lancaster County for our own asparagus, red raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, gooseberries, and other luscious produce. We also grow and sell fresh and dried lavender and herbs, and related gifts. In 2010 we'll be adding more of our own and other farm produce. Owners Dan and Margi Burkholder have both taught school and grown berries and other produce since the late 1970's. Over the decades, our business changed from retail, pick-your-own, and wholesale, to just wholesale. Now with Margi's retirement from teaching, we're reentering the retail farm business with a new spacious building for our produce market and antique shop. We grow hundreds of lilies and other perennials and invite you to enjoy our gardens and antique farm equipment displays. We also board horses with eight stalls and three spacious pastures. Tammie Stark of Stockwell Stables manages the horses and specializes in thoroughbred race horses, lay-ups, and sales prep. Pleasure and retired horses welcome. Availability varies.
Our business name honors our farm's listings in local history books as "The Evergreen Farm". We do not sell evergreens, but hope to keep this property "Ever-Green". Our beautiful location has been in agriculture since the late 1700's and in the Burkholder family since 1924. Dan and Margi purchased the main farm homestead in 2002. Our motto, "Preserving History, Conserving the Land" reflects our commitment to bio-friendly practices, such as generating solar electricity, using geo-thermal heating and cooling, maintaining our creek frontage in the CREP program, and using as many organic practices as feasible. We have been working to preserve and restore our historic buildings. Our large antique shop is open and filled with local and Pennsylvania historical items and unique gifts. Inventory ranges from primitive farm to Victorian to vintage; woodenware, tools, stoneware, granite ware, bottles, fine glass and china, artwork, paper ephemera, furniture, and much more. Price ranges to suit all. Open as indicated by listed hours. Winter hours by chance or appointment.
Looking forward to a visit! God bless.
