Deer Run Daylily Gardens specializes in chemical-free field grown daylilies, herbs & other fine perennials. We feature our own original nature photography and we also do narrated slide presentations for civic groups, horticultural societies, church groups, retirement communities, etc. Group tours of our gardens are offered May through mid July. Please see our website for more info on presentations or tours. In our display gardens we have over 1500 different daylily cultivars growing. We currently sell over 400 different cultivars which we have evaluated (growing in our open, windswept location) and selected as good garden worthy varieties. Mixed in with the daylilies in the display beds are thousands of spring bulbs, herbs, perennials and reseeding annuals with the intent of having color from Spring through fall. Some of our garden highlights are: 100+ different Epimedium varieties; over 200 different daffodil varieties; many crested, dwarf, intermediate, tall bearded and Siberian iris; unusual and common wildflowers, hardy Geranium and Lilium. We sell many old fashioned varieties of perennials as well as newer cultivars. We strive to sell plants that are reliably perennial. The plants we sell are individual blooming size plants from seed, cuttings or divisions from our own gardens, carefully potted and prepared for sale. Therefore, we have first hand experience about things like care requirements, winter hardiness, drought tolerance, plant increase/spread, height, bloom time, what creatures are attracted to what and much more than can be found on a garden center tag. Our daylilies are also available bare root, via mail order sales through a printed catalog, which is also viewable on our website. Look at our website for photos of the daylilies, perennials, herbs, etc. which we currently sell. Since we personally grow what we have for sale, our availability list changes somewhat from year to year according to our own garden/nursery supply. Our gardens have developed over the last twenty-one years and this is our 14th year of operation as a nursery. We are an accredited display garden of the American Hemerocallis Society and were featured on the Society's 2000 National convention tour. While we are not certified organic we do follow organic principles in our nursery. If you like plant diversity, unusual as well as common plants, and like spending time out amongst mother nature, than a visit to our gardens and nursery would definitely be worth your time.
